10 Reasons Everyone Should Travel
1. Get Out of Your Comfort Zone!
Traveling forces you to come out of your shell especially if you go to a country that speaks a different language, your social skills will grow vastly whenever you have to rely on other people.
2. To go home.
Let’s face it, if you’re American then the odds lean heavily in the favor that your family is not originally from here. Discover your roots, find out who you are by finding out where you came from. When you go to the birthplace of your family you may be walking down the same streets as your great great great grandfather, that changes your whole view of life!
3. The Cuisine!
You’ll never know until you try it. There are even vacation packages that are built around solely experiencing different foods!
4. To Find Inspiration
It’s hard to stand at the foot of the Pyramids, or the top of Mount Everest, or the halls of the Louvre and not find inspiration. Then again it could come in many different forms, perhaps walking on foreign soil and seeing true poverty first hand will inspire you to create a change in your life or the world.
5. Because a passport that is covered in stamps, is way cooler than the one left unused.
There are some countries who don’t utilize the stamps that often, clearly they don’t get it. It’s okay to ask the customs agent for the stamp, after all you might need proof you were there to back up your stories.
6. To find love.
We’ve all seen the movies or heard the stories of the defiant individual set out to recreate themselves in a far away country only to find their soul mate. Maybe you don’t find your other half waiting on the beaches of Brazil, but you can always go see the most beautiful architectural tribute of love, the Taj Mahal in India, or the temple of Aphrodite in Greece. If nothing else, traveling will help you fall even more in love what you already have in your life.
7. Because Cinderella’s castle is real, and it’s not in Florida.
Behold the Neuschwanstien castle high in the hills of Bavaria Germany. Since it’s public opening in 1868 more than 61 million people have made the hike up the mountains to see this amazing and elaborate palace.
8. Carnival in Rio
If you are looking for a party look no further. Over the years it has continuously grown in size and nationalities into a beast of it’s own. Brazil being a safe haven for so many cultures means that there is something for everybody, there are not enough words to describe everything about the party that is Carnival.
9. To become well rounded.
. If you stay in the same spot of your life physically it’s very hard to grow beyond that spot mentally or emotionally. Go out and blaze your trails so that you have stories to tell when you come back. Be the person who has experienced more than the person before you.
10. Because in the end, you never know how long you have before it’s gone.
Look at Rome in it’s glory, now so much of it is crumbled. Take for example Atlantis, sure it may not have existed, but it’s definitely gone now. Consider Pompeii, a bustling city reduced to ashes. Don’t wait. Travel now and travel often!
